Day 11 – Sarria to Portomarin

So many km, and so little strength left! A cute little dog followed us from the Auberge (oasis of tranquility) to the first town (Sarria) where we stopped for breakfast, and kept us company through breakfast. We also reached the 100km mark today! There were several offerings of worn out sneakers and other gear by the stone mile marker. Just 100km to go!! After a very long and tiresome walk, we had to go up a seemingly giant staircase to get into Portomarin which was also just one giant hill that we walked up and down, forward and backtracking in search of a place to stay. The hostels are getting filled now with walkers who get bused in to only do the minimum 100km, and we should have booked in advance. We really enjoyed that giant pitcher of house wine for dinner.
