Day 14 – Castañeda to Arca do Pino

It was so hard to leave the idyllic bed and breakfast to set out walking with sore feet and muscles for another 20km or more. We stopped early for breakfast and lingered while I wrote some posts and L did homework. Then it started raining. The weather today cycled between hot and sunny, cold and windy, then threw some rain and hail occasionally into the mix. I was glad to have my waterproofs which were fairly breathable in the heat. We stopped for an espresso boost just 4km from our end point and a group of walkers showed up to ask directions, but also managed to slip in a mention that they’d walked 44 km that day so far. They came up behind us later on in the trail, walking so fast that I stepped aside to let them pass, thinking they were on bikes.
